Teen Therapy in Manhattan Beach | Adolescent Therapist | South Bay

Teens are under real pressure — academic, social, and the kind that comes from growing up in a high-achieving community like the South Bay. Teen therapy gives them a space that’s actually theirs.

What Brings Teens to Therapy

Anxiety about grades, college, and the future. Social struggles and identity questions. Depression, withdrawal, or irritability that parents can’t reach. ADHD and learning differences affecting confidence. Sometimes just the weight of keeping everything together.

High-Masking Clients

Many of my clients have spent years being told they’re fine — or being too good at appearing that way. High-masking people hold it together at work, at school, in public. The effort is exhausting, and underneath there’s often anxiety, burnout, or undiagnosed ADHD or autism that’s never been caught because they present so well. If you’ve always felt different but never had a name for it, I can help you figure out what’s actually going on.

My Approach With Teens

I use CBT — practical tools, not just talking. I work collaboratively with teens, meeting them where they are. I spent years as a school psychologist inside South Bay middle and high schools. I know how these systems work, what teachers see, and how to advocate for your kid inside them.

A Note for Parents

I work with your teen — not around them. I keep parents informed within the bounds of confidentiality, and involve parents strategically when it helps. If your teen has a diagnosis or is struggling at school, I can also consult on IEPs, 504 plans, and educational rights.
